Exam mode for IB papers

All courses

Put the calculator into the IB-approved exam configuration right before each paper, and get back out afterwards.

1

The IB requires Press-to-Test mode, set up immediately before each paper: it locks away every document and disables the blocked features. Turn the handheld off with , then hold and press until the Press-to-Test dialog appears. Don't select Enter Press-to-Test yet.

2

Match this screen exactly: Default Angle: Degree, CAS Mode: Off on CAS models, and untick the six rows the IB allows. Move with or the arrows; toggle a box by clicking the touchpad centre, not ENTER. Newer CX IIs accept TI's IB exam code 0000-1790 instead.

Select Enter Press-to-Test. After the reboot the top bar shows a padlock and the LED blinks amber. Green means every box is ticked, which blocks tools you're allowed to keep.

Between papers, repeat + from off and choose Reset Press-to-Test to wipe your work but keep the settings. Exiting afterwards needs a USB link to another handheld (9: Press-to-Test1: Exit Press-to-Test) or TI's web tool at nspireconnect.ti.com.
