Ans holds your last answer. For year two, just press : because the line starts with an operation, the calculator writes Ans* for you. Type and press . (You can also paste Ans anywhere yourself with .)

ENTER repeats the last entry. Press once more and Ans*1.035 runs again on the new answer: year three, no typing at all. Each extra press applies one more year, which makes this a quick way to watch any sequence grow term by term.

Recall an old entry instead of retyping it. (ENTRY) pastes your previous entry back onto the line; press it again to step further back through the history. You can also scroll: press to highlight any earlier entry or answer on the screen, then to paste it. Recall 2500*1.035 (three presses back), then type at the end and press to redo all three years in one line. Same answer, a good self-check.

Edit with insert mode. Suppose the deposit was 12500 instead. Recall the line with , jump to the start with , and press (INS): the cursor changes to an underline. Now slides in front of the 2 instead of overwriting it (without INS you'd get 1500!), and re-runs the whole calculation. Insert mode switches itself off when you press an arrow key.
