One-sample t-test
Use the calculator's test menu to run a one-sample t-test from summary statistics and read t and the p-value.
Test H0:μ=50 against Ha:μ>50 using xˉ=51.2, Sx=4.1, n=16.
Press , move right to TESTS, and choose 2: T-Test.
Set Inpt to Stats (you have summary statistics, not raw data). Enter μ0: 50, x̄: 51.2, Sx: 4.1, n: 16, and select the alternative μ>μ0. If you had the raw data instead, set Inpt to Data, point List at the list holding it (e.g. L1, typed with ) with Freq: 1, and the calculator finds xˉ and Sx for you.
Move down to Calculate and press .
t≈1.17 and p≈0.130, so at the 5% level there is insufficient evidence to reject H0.
Your turn
Work each one on your calculator, then check the answer.
